Eleanor F. Sutherland, 97, of Allegan, formerly of Royal Oak, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Allegan General Hospital in Allegan, Michigan. Mrs. Sutherland was born in Owosso, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Carrie (Alyea) McEntee. She was a 1937 graduate of St. Paul's Catholic High School in Owosso, Michigan. Eleanor was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Royal Oak, Michigan. After moving to Allegan about four years ago, she began attending Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She had a great love for cooking and enjoyed working her crossword puzzles. Eleanor's true passions were her family and her Lord. She is survived by her children: Kelly Sutherland, Cecilia and Neil Norcross, and David Sutherland; two grandchildren: Joseph (Tareyn) and Luke; two great-grandchildren: Jameson and Addilyn; and one brother, Howard and Kathleen McEntee. Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Timothy; grandson, Michael; and brother, Leroy. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 3rd at Blessed Sacrament Church in Allegan, Rev. Father Alan P. Jorgensen officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Corunna, Michigan. Memorials may be made to the Allegan Public Library, 331 Hubbard Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
