of Wayland, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her home. Aged 103, widow of Fred, joyfully met him in Heaven. Surviving are her children: Lee, Wade, Rex and (Gloria), Roxie and (Dennis) Muczynski; 9 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and other extended family. Effie came to Wayland in 1935 as a new bride, joining Fred in his business, Wayland Cleaners. They worked side by side for over 50 years before retiring. Effie loved grooming her property, often mowing 6 days a week. She hung up her mower keys at the age of 101. Those that knew Effie well would say she was a devoted Christian, the true matriarch of her family, and an avid community supporter. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 3-5 pm at the Wayland United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 pm. Pastors Jeffrey Williams and Greg Carlson will officiate. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayland.
