VIEW PHOTO TRIBUTE Byron, Edwin L., of Gobles, MI, died Friday, January 30, 2004 at his home. Mr. Byron was born June 9, 1924 in Cheshire Twp., the son of Louis & Carrie (Scofield) Byron. He graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 1942. He was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Navy. On December 26, 1947 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Carlson, who survives. He retired from Rockwell Int. in 1977 after 30 years of service. His family was the most important thing in his life. He loved to garden, and work with wood. Also surviving are 4 children and their spouses, Vicki & Jim Sebright of Allegan, Karen & Jim Robertson of Otsego, Rex & Cindy Byron of Portage and Nancy & Pat Ellis of Allegan; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Merson Church. Pastor Gail Pike officiating. Interment Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Twp. Memorials may be made to the Merson Church or Wings of Hope Hospice.
