of Allegan, died Friday, December 28, 2012, at Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Pokornowski was born July 8, 1926, in Chicago, the son of Steven and Pearl (Chojnacki) Pokornowski. Ed graduated from Bowen High School in Chicago and received his Masters from Michigan State University. He wrestled at both the high school and college level. He was an avid MSU fan. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army. Ed was a Principal at Linden Elementary School for over 13 years and in the Howard City Area Schools for 7 years. He loved kids and education. He also enjoyed staying in shape. He entered many 10K runs and was very competitive in his age group. Surviving are his wife, Ila, 2 children: Eric and Robin Pokornowski, Claire Jenkins, 2 grandchildren: Scott and Rachel, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 5 brothers: Larry, Ben, Tom, Benedict, Ray, and his sister, Gert. There will be no public services. Memorials may be made to the Allegan Dollars for Scholars, P.O.
