Obituary

of Wayland, died on Monday, March 25, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. Ed was born June 29, 1938, in Berrien Springs, the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Bowyer) Kuhl. Ed was a Veteran of the United States Marine's, and was a member of the Dorr American Legion. He had worked for G.M. in Grand Rapids for over 19 years, and for Ryder Truck in Grand Rapids for 15 years, retiring in 2007. He was an avid car enthusiast, and Ed and his wife were co founders of the Runaways of Michigan Car Club. Surviving are his wife, Rose, whom he married in July 2, 1956, 5 daughters; Dodie and Bruce Luabe, Judy and Danny Myers, Linda and Ron Lannon, Janet and Ray Bender, Terri Kuhl and Doug Berens, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, his sister, Josephine Brand, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Leona Corder. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2pm. Pastor Jim Collison will officiate. Military graveside services will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery, Wayland, by the American Legion Post in Dorr. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
