View Photo Tributes Edith Todd, 83 of Hopkins, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Mrs. Todd was born March 29, 1922 in Chester, England, the daughter of James and Ellen (Sprouston) Thompson. She had worked at Kesslers in Wayland for 18 years retiring in 1975. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Hopkins VFW Ladies Auxliary for 50 years. Surviving are 2 daughters, Alma (Philip) Schofield of Hopkins, Sharon (Steven) Byers of Mattawan; 1 son-in-law, John (Lylah) Clark of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Todd, Scott VanAllsburg, Joshua (Sandy), Andrew, and Nicholas Byers; 3 great grandchildren, Jordan, Stephen and Alexis; 1 brother, Vincent Thompson of England; 2 sisters, Georgina Schofield, and Evelyn Chadwick of England; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Cleo in 1990; a daughter, June Clark in 1980 and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where a Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Jim Vinh Le celebrant. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Hopkins First Responders.
