of Allegan, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Mrs. Melms was born April 9, 1916, in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Laura (Lenth) Parry. Edith was a member of both the Presbyterian Church and Immanuel Lutheran. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend, and babysitter. Edith enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and her flower garden. Surviving are her son: Michael Melms and his companion, Linda Tooker; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her brother: Edward Parry; daughter-in-law: Joan Melms; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; son, William; sister, Edna Roby; daughter-in-law, Judith Melms. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, August 2, 2015, from 2-4 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, on Monday at 11 am, with a visit time one hour prior to the service. Pastors Alex Steward and Karen Fitz LaBarge will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church, or Wings of Hope Hospice.
