Obituary

Allegan, MI, died Monday, August 27, 2007 at Metron of Allegan. Mr. Gardiner was born July 6, 1920 in Morley, MI, the son of William and Florence (Whipple) Gardiner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been employed at Menasha Corp. for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Marie (VanBuskirk), whom he married March 3, 1943; 1 son and his wife, Doug and Lynn Gardiner of Allegan; 3 grandchildren, Christa and Carl Braun of Brighton, Joe Gardiner, and Craig and Deb Gardiner all of Allegan; 6 great grandchildren, Chase, Kinslea, Kailyn, Carly, Lindsey, and Zack; 2 sisters, Esther Stratton of Kalamazoo and Martha Wilcox of Morley. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Friends may meet with the family from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. Pastor Robert Pumfery officiating. Interment Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or Hillside Learning and Behavior Center.
