Duane Eugene Grauman, 88 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at Ely Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Allegan, Michigan. Born May 27, 1933 in Gobles, Michigan, he was the son of the late Herman and Emily (Abbott) Grauman and the wife of the late Dixie (Green) Grauman. Duane was a 1948 graduate of Allegan High School went on to serve honorably in the United States National Guard for four years as a cook, Sergeant First Class. After the service, Duane went on to become a restaurant owner in Union City, Michigan; was a milkman, top mechanic, worked at Armintrout Tree Farm and also at the Sunset Bowling Alley. He eventually retired from Armintrout's after 20 years of service. To say he was a "jack of all trades" would probably be an understatement. There was also a fun-loving and adventurous side to Duane, which came out in his love for motorcycles, stock cars and gambling. Duane was a dedicated family man who did his best to provide for his family, both in showing that he wasn't afraid of hard work, and also by showing love and devotion to them. Duane is survived by his five children, Debra Northrop, Duane (Michelle Frampton) Grauman, Jr., Dawn (Walt) Morse, Dorothy (Kevin) Frampton and Douglas (Treese Edson) Grauman; 15 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and his two siblings, Patricia Leversee and Donna Wells. Along with his parents, Herman and Emily, and his wife of 44 years, Dixie, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joshua Frampton and Ryan Young; and three siblings, Paul Grauman, Wanita Waigand and Geraldine Krotz. Friends may meet with the family at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, at which time the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Duane will be laid to rest in Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township. Service Details.
