Obituary

83, of Allegan, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Wings Home, Allegan, Michigan, with his family and Pastor at his side. Dwayne was born July 1, 1930 in Holland, Michigan, the son of Clarence and Mae (Kamphuis) Looman. He graduated from Allegan High School, served in the United States Navy, and retired in 1985 from Consumers Power Company after 35 years of service. Dwayne was a caring husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed the farm, hunting (especially muzzle loader), and fishing on Swan Lake. Dwayne is survived by his beloved wife Kay, of 61 years; his sons: Dennis (Margaret) Looman, Derek (Denise) Looman; his daughters: Denise (Richard) Priebe, Diane Looman; his six grandchildren: Jody, Julie, Derek, Luke, Max, Emily; his five great-grandchildren; his brothers: Terry (Nancy) Looman, Bill (Cathy) Looman; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Dwayne in death were his brothers: Jack, Gerrit, LeRoy and Dan; his daughter-in-law Joyce; granddaughter Diana; and his beloved dog Gus. A Memorial Service will be held at Chicora Country Chapel on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Herbert Curry will be officiating. Inurnment is at Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Township, Michigan. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Wings Home, 330 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010; Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010; Chicora Country Chapel, 4399 108th Avenue, Allegan, Michigan 49010. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
