Obituary

81, of Allegan, died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Allegan General Hospital. Dorothy was born in Allegan, Michigan, the daughter of Raymon and Hattie (Deshong) Hiscock. Dorothy was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Allegan Amateur Ham Radio Club, which made her a part of Skywarn. She graduated from Allegan High School in 1949. During her teen years, Dorothy worked for Globe Knitting in Allegan. She was known for her strong willed and spunky personality. Dorothy is survived by her husband John, whom she was married over 63 years; her children: Daniel Foster, Linda Caldarona, Victoria (Daniel) Miller; her grandchildren: Scott, Shannon, Tonya, Chad, Natisha, Brian, Jennifer, Stephanie; her fourteen great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchild; her brother Robert (Ella) Hiscock; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dorothy is preceded in death by her great-grandson Cole Foster; her sister Betty Starnes; and her two brothers Eugene and Richard Hiscock. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 3-5:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan. The Funeral will be on Monday, at 11:00 A.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan. Pastor Pat White will be officiating. Interment is at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township. The family would like to thank the staff at Ely Manor for the excellent care and friendship she was given. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence.
