Otsego Twp., MI, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. Mrs. Halstead was born May 25, 1924 in Ohio, the daughter of Seth and Mary Margaret (Bauman) Beldon. She had been a member of the Watson Bible Church. Surviving are 6 children, George Dale Halstead and William Charles and Leah Halstead, all of Allegan, Eileen Margaret Boylan and Ruth Ann Halstead, both of Otsego, Rebecca Jean and Jeff Hamilton of Plainwell and Linda Marie and Ronald Crans of Otsego; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Rex "Johnny" and Louise Beldon of Ohio; 1 sister, Pearl Schmidt of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1999 and 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor James L. Collison officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or Wings of Hope Hospice.
