of Allegan, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at her son's home in Gobles. Mrs. Girke was born March 18, 1921 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Floyd and Fannie (Burchett) Bishop. Dorothy was a faithful member of the Monterey Center United Methodist Church for many years. She loved to garden, sew and put together puzzles. Surviving are her son, Neil and Doreen Girke of Gobles; 10 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Howard and Gladys Bishop of Battle Creek; her son-in-law, Rex Johnson of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, son, Bruce, daughter, Beverly, brother, Hugh, and sister, Helen Plane. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Pastor Tony Shumaker officiating. Memorials may be made to the Church or Wings of Hope Hospice.
