of Allegan, passed away into the arms of her Lord, on Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Meadow Woods Nursing Home in Bloomingdale. Dorothy was born March 11, 1933, in Chicago, the daughter of the late David and Ruth (Holmes) Pearson. She graduated from South Shore High School, and attended Augustana Nursing School, both in Chicago, and received her Registered Nurse degree in 1953. Dorothy loved being a nurse and taking care of people. She was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years, she sat on the Church Council, coordinator of the Church Prayer Chain, and helped in all the quilting projects for Lutheran World Relief. Dorothy and her first husband Dick, had 2 children; LeAnne and Lee Pitchford, and James and Roberta Johnston. In 1978, she married Jesse Ewing, who survives, and he brought 4 children; Jesse III, who is now in heaven, Donna and Charlie Kresse, Carla and John Frangella, and Lisa and Bob Carlson. She was the proud grandmother of 15, and great grandmother of 5. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne and her first husband Dick Johnston. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M., at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pastor Alex Steward will officiate. Interment in Lee Cemetery, Lee Twp. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Wings of Hope Hospice. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
