of Allegan, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Briarwood Assisted Living in Allegan. Mrs. Porebski was born August 31, 1929, in Brookfield, IL, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Mares) Stibal. Doris graduated from Allegan High School, Class of 1948, and attended Western Michigan University. She retired from the Allegan County Dept. of Social Services after 17 years of service. She was also the Director of the Allegan County Workshops, for the physically and mentally handicapped of the Allegan area. She was a member of the Episcopal Church in Allegan. Doris enjoyed the love and friendship of her pets over the years, and had a love for growing flowers. Surviving are her 3 children: Sandra Fisher, John and Celeste Porebski, Jody and Garth Henthorn; 5 grandchildren: Sarah, Jason, John, David, Jesse; 3 great grandchildren: Olivia, Logan, Claire; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; 3 brothers: Milton, Ervin, Frank; 2 sisters: Ethel and Blanche. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no public service.
