Allegan, MI, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Whitney was born December 20, 1925 in Watson Twp., the daughter of Hudson and Ruby (Lukins) Kelley. She graduated from Otsego High School in 1943 and was a member of the Allegan First Presbyterian Church and the ASPCA. She had been employed as an OB Nurse at Allegan General Hospital for more than 20 years. She loved Michigan sports and was a diehard Lions and Pistons fan. Surviving are her husband, Edward; 5 children, Kathy and Mike Harrington, Lyle Whitney, Candy and Bob Miller, Denise and Mike Curtis, and Sally and Bill Ruga, all of Allegan; 7 grandchildren, Meagan, Shane, Nathan, Mellissa, Joshua, Emma and Evan; 1 brother, Paul Kelley of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Joseph Phipps officiating. Private family interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Babies' Needs Fund.
