of Allegan. Passed away peacefully at Allegan County Medical Care Community on March 2, 2012. Age 74 years. She was born in Bryan, Ohio, April 23, 1937, to Melvin and Ruth (May) Thiel. A graduate of Florence-Edon High School and Hillsdale College, she taught elementary school in Hartford from 1969 to 1994. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her generous spirit and her love of music. Donna is survived by her sister Doris of Reading; her sisters-in-law, Lois Thiel of Wharton, Ohio and Susan Thiel of Allegan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Melvin Thiel and Jackie Hugh Thiel. At her request, her body was donated to University of Michigan for medical research on multiple sclerosis, and there will be no visitation or services. The family will gather in the spring to share memories of her life. The family wishes to thank Allegan County Medical Care Community for their excellent care of Donna for the past 14 years.
