Donna L. Miller, 81, of Hopkins, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Miller was born in Hopkins, Michigan on June 4, 1934, the daughter of the late Alford and Katherine (Soughders) Layton. She was a 1952 Hopkins High School graduate and attended Monterey Center United Methodist Church. Donna was a wonderful home maker for her family and an exceptionally hard worker. She loved living on their dairy farm and canning her own fresh produce from her garden. Donna married Richard Miller in 1953 and together they raised their family and ran the farm. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; 7 of their children: Sharon Miller-Walcott and Steve Walcott, Charles and Bertha Miller, Eileen and Clyde Chapman, James Miller, Teresa and Jeff Ellis, Kevin and Oralia Miller, Nicholas and Maria Miller; 12 grandchildren: Dan, David, Tom, Chelsey, Alexandra, Stan, Christopher, Samantha, Gloria, Katie, Kassie and Jordan; 6 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Abigail, Natalie, Tyler, David and Taylor; 1 brother: Ronald and Julia Layton; and 1 sister: Dorothy and Cliff Harrington. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Katherine Layton; 1 infant son, Alan Miller and her sister, Doris Brahlek Miller. Friends may meet with the family from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Monday, February 29th at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sally K.
