Donna Jean Lautz Herwarth, 67, of Shelbyville, Michigan passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2017, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born on May 14, 1949, in Rochester, New York, to the late Herbert Arthur & Phyllis Jean (neAC. Dibble) Lautz. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in social work and had recently retired from a career as a Judicial Secretary/Court Recorder for the State of Michigan's 57th District Court in Allegan, Michigan. Donna is survived by her two daughters, Megan Brown and Kristi Herwarth, one grandchild, Brianna Brown, her sister, brothers, and sisters-in-law, Richard & Lucinda Lautz, Chris Lautz, David & Lisa Lautz, and Steven & Maureen Lautz, and numerous beloved step-children, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Julius Herwarth, and her nephew, Steven Michael Herwarth. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan, Michigan, on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., including a celebration of life ceremony starting at 6:00 p.m. During the celebration of life ceremony, family and friends will be welcome to share any story or memory that they would like. A second public celebration of life ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel in Battle Creek, Michigan, followed immediately by interment.
