Obituary

of Illinois, formerly of Allegan, MI, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Illinois. Mr. Stickel was born November 20, 1926 in Trowbridge Twp., MI, the son of Peter and Goldie (Badgley) Stickel. He was a 1944 graduate of Otsego High School and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an auto mechanic and had worked for Hewitts in Allegan for several years, H.J. Coopers in Kalamazoo for more than 22 years, Imus in Paw Paw, and retiring from McFaddens in South Haven after 5 years. Surviving are his wife, Helen; 6 children and their spouses, Ann Stickel of New York, Peter and Marcia Stickel of Wisconsin, Don and Barb Stickel of Ohio, Judy and Stephen Cronk of Nebraska, Ruth and Rob Spencer of Illinois, and Joe and Lauri Stickel of Allegan; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and their wives, Bob and Margaret Stickel of Kalamazoo, Charles Stickel of Ohio, and Jim and Lois Stickel of Arizona. Mr. Stickel was preceded in death by a grandson; brother, George and sister, Virginia. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m., officiated by Lecil Sullivan and Greg Harger. Interment Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp., MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
