Obituary

Donald Robert Lamb, of Allegan, MI, gained his Golden Wings on June 19, 2024 at the age of 62. Born on January 17, 1962 in Grand Rapids, MI, he was preceded in death by his parents, Donald J. and Wilma J. (Smith) Lamb, along with his maternal mother, Karen Conklin. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Tonia Lamb; his child, James Lamb; his sister, Barbara Stegall; his brother, Les (Ann) Conklin; and a number of cousins, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

Traveling and getting to see everything this world had to offer, Don made it to all 50 states. He took many pictures along the way and truly enjoyed learning about new areas and what those states had to offer. We went high in the sky and low underground and water, fear was not in his vocabulary. He truly had a zest for life, but above all else, Don loved his family, placing their lives at the top of his list of priorities.

Working at Perrigo for 24 years, Don was known by many throughout the company. He was an avid sports nut who spent a lot of his years playing softball, bowling and golf. He also was into RC racing, later becoming the race director at M-40 RC Raceway, and assisting at numerous tracks throughout southwest Michigan.

Head coach for Allegan High School Bowling, and assistant coach for Allegan High School Girls Softball, Don's passion was finding potential in everyone that he worked with. He never hesitated to help and give to anyone that he saw in need, to a fault. He would often forgo his own needs if it meant helping someone else even a small amount. Through all of his work and extracurricular activities, he made numerous friends and impacted countless lives. His loss will be felt by many.

"Though Don is no longer with us in body, his spirit will continue to guide us. The lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories we created will remain with us forever. As we move forward, let us carry his legacy in our hearts and honor him by living with the same passion, kindness, and dedication that he exemplified" - Mike Gruis Sr.

In lieu of flowers please go to your local school and make a donation to the Sports Athletic Club in Don's memory. He donated many of his hours to athletics and making sure that the programs thrived, this would be one way to honor his legacy and help continue sports in schools. There will be a celebration of life at a yet-to-be decided date and venue, that will later be announced.
