Obituary

of Hopkins, passed away, Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Wings Home in Allegan. Don was born December 3, 1927, in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Frank and Bertha (Forbear) Knudsen. On June 24, 1950, Don married Dorothy Evans, in Chicago. They moved to Hopkins in 1952. He had worked for almost 40 years with Michigan Bell, serving time in both Chicago and Wayland. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Don was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson for over 60 years. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two children, Deb Strang; Barry Knudsen; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bud; and his sister, Marilyn Marzec. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, May 30, 2016, from 4-6 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson, Fr, Harry Potter, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel.
