Heath Twp., Allegan, MI, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Metron of Allegan. Mr. Essink was born August 4, 1922 in Overisel Twp., MI, the son of Geritt and Gertrude (Hoffman) Essink. He had served in the U.S. Army and had been a member of the Dunningville Reformed Church for more than 50 years. Surviving are his wife, Viola (Phillips), whom he married May 28, 1952; 1 brother, Ervin Essink of Holland; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Friends may meet with the family from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Dunningville Reformed Church. Pastor Tim TenClay officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Hamilton, MI.
