of Allegan. Died Sunday, December 18, 2011. Age 80 years. Donald was born July 22, 1931, the son of the late William and Alice (Wall) Brown. He worked for the Allegan County Road Commission from July 17, 1951 until August 1, 1993, retired after 42 years of service. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and he enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He was married to Ella Horton on February 9, 1952; she preceded him in death in 2006. Surviving are his two sons, Larry (Jennifer) Brown of Allegan and Ricky (Teresa) Brown of Allegan; four grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Jamie (Eric) Wine, Lisa Brown and Jared Brown all of Allegan; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald (Ann) Brown of Allegan and Melvin (Frances) Brown of Allegan; three sisters, Wilma (Leonard) Melvin of Bloomingdale, Olive Van Horn of Allegan and Arlene (Wilson) Branham of Allegan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald was preceded in death by his son Donald; and his brother-in-law, George Van Horn. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Davis will officiate with burial in Hudson Corners Cemetery.
