Dennis Henry Ax, 79 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at Ascension Allegan General Hospital. Born October 25, 1942 in Manistee, Michigan, he was the son of the late Henry and Geraldine (Repo) Ax and the husband of the late Karen (Fisher) Ax. Dennis and Karen were blessed to have 50 years together before her passing in 2014. They were members of the Merson Church and were both dedicated to the Lord. They had also been part of the Sandy Pines community. Prior to retirement, Dennis spent 30 years at the Title, Bond and Mortgage Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he was an accountant. Dennis was a fun-loving man who did his best to enjoy his life and create special memories for his family. He enjoyed playing ping pong and even became the ping pong champ at Ferris University. In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed playing pinochle, cribbage and other card games. He was also a sports fan, rooting for any of the Detroit teams. Some of his favorite times were spent with his grandkids, taking them to McDonald's, to the park, camping and hunting. These wonderful outings made for some great stories and cherished memories. Dennis is survived by his children, Dean Ax, Jeff (Mary) Ax, Steven (Shanna) Ax and Michele (Chad) TerAvest; one brother, Eugene (Phyllis) Ax; eight grandchildren, David (Renae), Sarah, Rachel, Tyler, Tim, Sy, Matt, and Zach; and one great-granddaughter, Delilah. A graveside service will take place Friday, March 11, at 4:00 pm in Mallory Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Dennis' name to the Merson Church, 3313 102nd Avenue, Gobles, MI 49055. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Service Details.
