Delia Evelyn Church (DeHoog), age 87, passed into Glory on October 3, 2022. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy of family and friends is vast. Her seven children called her blessed. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will share stories for a long time. She loved the Lord and longed for others to know and love Him too. She was without pretense, a good listener, and always thinking of others. Even in her dementia, she displayed the fruits of the Spirit. She grew up in Grand Rapids, moved several times after her marriage to Edward Church while he was in the US Marines. She lived for 44 years in Hopkins. She provided for her family by working at Perrigo for 23 years. She was hard-working and giving-of-herself. She loved. She laughed. She sang. She uplifted. She taught. She nursed. She brought kids--her own and others--to church. She was genuine. She is survived by her children, Diane (John) Huff, Christine (Tom) Pete, Raymond (Sheryl) Church, Denise (Dave) DeJonge, Brenda (Mike) VanAanhold, Brian (Branda) Church, and Jenene (Mike) Schumaker. Grandchildren, Joshua Huff, Jason (Nidhi) Huff, (John) Veldsema, Melody (Jaime) Wright, Charlene (Rick) Morrison, Michael Pete, Kendra (Jeremy) Jensen, Charles (Ashley) Church, Samantha Burton, Vincent (Carly) Church, Jeremy (Bridget) Church, Philip DeJonge, Derrick (Katie) DeJonge, Nathan (Alexis) DeJonge, Ethan DeJonge, Sarah (Patrick) Sundt, Tabitha (Marvin) Zurita, Nicolas Church, Cody Church, Megan Church, Jacob (Elizabeth) Schumaker, Cade (Katrina) Schumaker, Kayla Schumaker, Melinda Schumaker, numerous great-grandchildren, and brother-in-law Harvey Hamilton. Delia was preceded in death by her husband Edward Church, daughter Debra Jean, granddaughter Jessica Veldsema, brother and sister-in-law William and Jean DeHoog. The family would like to thank the Boersma Cottage and Maplewoods staff of Resthaven for their sweet care of our Mom and Grandmother.
