of Allegan, died Friday, January 30, 2009, at the Plainwell Pines Nursing Home. Mr. Augustyn was born July 11, 1923, in Cicero, IL, the son of Paul and Mary Augustyn. Del was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII. He worked for several years with Checker Cab in Kalamazoo, and then started Del's Auto Body Repair, where he worked for over 25 years. He was an avid hunter, and loved to be outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Pat, 6 children, Kami and Gary Taylor of Fennville, Del Augustyn Jr. and Deb Taylor of Allegan, Larry and Nancy Augustyn of Gobles, Robin and Larry Miller, Rick Augustyn and Shelly Augustyn all of Alpena, 3 step children, Barb Harris of Colon, Becky and Larry Hammer of TN, Brenda Flinn of Schoolcraft, several grandchildren, great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor David Nightingale will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice.
