Blanton Jr., Dee Dennis, 67, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Holland Community Hospital. Mr. Blanton was born on January 16, 1949 in Galveston, Texas, the son of the late Dee Dennis and Dollie (Ellis) Blanton. Dee had a love for the outdoors and spent many years as a professional logger. He enjoyed playing softball and pool and was known as a pool shark. His family meant the world to him and they shared in various activities which created special memories that will be cherished. Dee is survived by his 3 children: Sheila and Gabriel delaRosa, Kelly and Shawn Blanton, Amy Alicia Blanton; 7 grandchildren: Derek, Shanisty, Damien, Daniel, Allison, Kayla and Austin; 2 great-grandchildren: Brennen and Preston; 1 brother: Chris and Ruth Blanton; 7 sisters: Charleen and Steve Wooten, Lena and Howard Bradford, Retta and Mike Cooper, Freda and David Trammell, Lucille and Ray Ammeraal, Darlene Kelch and Jeanne Nichols; 1 aunt: Bessie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Dee is preceded in death by 2 brothers: Mac A. Blanton and Sammy L. Blanton; and 2 sisters: Mae Hicks and Betty Watson. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, January 29th at New Vision Church, 277 Felch Street in Holland from 5-7pm, where the service will take place on Saturday, January 30th at 11am, Pastor Mary Hoots officiating. Interment will take place at Restlawn Cemetery in Holland. Arrangements being made through Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
