of Allegan, went to be with her Savior Thursday, October 14, 2010. Deb was born December 8, 1953 in Norfolk, VA, the daughter of Joseph and Boncille (Stovall) VanderVeen. She graduated from Allegan High School in 1972, and attended Parsons Business School in Kalamazoo. She was a member of Christ Community Church. She worked as the office manager at the Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan for over 30 years with her brother Steve, and retired in 2010. She had many loves; golf, gardens, flowers, reading, and her family. She was given a special gift this year with her first grandson, Noah. Surviving are her husband, Martin, whom she married on Dec. 31, 1985, her 3 children, Jay and Alexis Gibson, Joseph Reed and Jessica Reed, her mother, Boncille VanderVeen, her brother, Steven and Mary VanderVeen, several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph VanderVeen. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where we will celebrate her life on Monday at 11 am. Pastor G. Patrick White will officiate.
