Deborah Kay Wesseling, 65, of Plainwell, MI passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Medilodge in East Lansing.  Born September 28, 1957 in Plainwell, she was the daughter of the late Louis Edward and Eunice Louise (Harrison) LaFountain.  Deborah had a spunky, unique personality and was proud of her one-of-a-kind style, which included a lot of tie dye.  Whenever she was able to be outdoors, she was happy.  Deborah loved to go fishing and camping, or just sitting back and enjoying the birds and other animals in the yard.  In her younger years she was very adventurous and recently she had enjoyed racing, watching hockey and trips to the casino.  Above all else, Deborah's greatest love was her family.  Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and they will miss her beyond measure.

Deborah is survived by her children, Stacey (Lee) Smith-Mayo, Melissa Smith, Thomas (Ashley) Smith and Bridgett Smith; brother, Steven LaFountain; grandchildren, Heath, Christian, Alexis, Jaelyn, Kyle, Rylan, Emmett, Tessa, Masyn and Ayden; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Oakley.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis E. LaFountain, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Emma.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell.
