36, of Martin, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, unexpectedly to a long battle with illness. Dean was born November 6, 1976 in Grand Rapids, the son of Jerry and Nancy (Strohmier) Hall, who were very happy to finally have their boy, as well as his three very excited sisters who were at home waiting his arrival. To his family and friends, he was "Deaner", and to his very special Grandma Hall, he was her "Deaner Boy". Growing up, Deaner enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad and family. Deaner was a huge and devoted fan of the University of Michigan and the Detroit Tigers. Being a fun and crazy uncle to his four nieces was a highlight in Deaner's life. He loved being surrounded by family. Being a practical joker, Dean was known for making people laugh. His personality was bigger than life. Deaner is survived by his parents Jerry and Nancy; his three sisters: Melinda (Butch) Glass, Sandra (David) LaFountaine, Wendy (Tim) Graves; his four nieces: Kristen, Lauren, Maecy, Tori; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his nephew Jerry Adam Hall-Graves; his paternal grandparents Adam McCurdy and Thelma Hall; his maternal grandparents Richard and Barbara Strohmier; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 5-8:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 10, 2013 also at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Richard Sheldon and Mike Risner will be officiating.
