age 54, of Hopkins, MI, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003 at Metropolitan Hospital, Grand Rapids. Mr. Kerber was born Oct. 13, 1948 in Allegan, MI, the son of Otto and Elinor (Arndt) Kerber. He graduated from Hopkins High School and had served in the U.S. Army for two years in Germany. Surviving are his wife, Jan (Commons); 1 son and his wife, David and Marcia Kerber of Allegan; 3 grandchildren, Colton, Justin and Brandon; Mother, Elinor Kerber, and Mother-in-law, Joyce Commons, both of Hopkins; 1 brother, 2 sisters, and their spouses, James and Barb Kerber of Dorr, Joyce and Ron Chappell of Grand Rapids and Ann and Fred Gaukel of Florida; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Father and Father-in-law, Otto Kerber and Paul Commons. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Dorr Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Project Hope or Wings of Hope Hospice.
