David Carlyle Linder, 74, of Allegan, MI passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Born June 3, 1946 in Allegan, Michigan, he was the son of the late Carlyle and Jane (Ventrella) Linder and was the husband of Diane (Guritz) Linder. David was born and raised in Allegan. After high school, he went into the United States Army where he served his country honorably for three years. Once his military tour was complete, he went on to work as a tool and die maker for General Motors, retiring after thirty-seven years of employment. In David's younger years, one would find him surrounded by music. He was either playing in bands or just listening to it (sometimes very loudly). As he aged, he moved on to Karaoke nights and enjoyed wonderful times with his family and friends. He also was quite a history buff and loved talking about history and finding out more of the areas that interested him. David met a lot of great people, who became lifelong friends, through his memberships of the Elks, Eagles and Moose Clubs. His family meant the world to him and once he became a grandfather to his three granddaughters, David had the best times spoiling them and making sure they knew just how special they were to him. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his sons, Shawn (Nancy) Linder and Scott (Kari) Linder; his three granddaughters, Heather Linder Sewell, Sydney Linder, and Alexis Linder; and his two sisters, Monica Roon and Marsha Brown.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. David will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Gorden Funeral Residence is assisting the family with arrangements. Service Details. Interment Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 | 11:00am
