Allegan Twp., MI, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Metron of Allegan. Mr. Ames was born February 1, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the son of Charles E. Sr. and Dorothy (Pennington) Ames. He was a 1951 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed for 20 years in civil service at the unemployment offices in Detroit and Coldwater. Surviving are 2 sons, David and Renne Ames of Illinois and Edward and Patty Ames of California; 1 grandson, David Jacob; 5 sisters, Ardith and Carlton Bradley and Rosamonde Rice, all of Kalamazoo, Bernice Stevens of Montana, Mary and Al Lambert of Allegan and Sandy and Claude Weston of Gobles.
