STONE, Darl E. Aged 70, of Hopkins, MI, died Friday, March 1, 2002 at Borgess-Pipp Health Center in Plainwell. Mr. Stone was born April 13, 1931 in Allegan County, the son of Russell and Wilma (Coon) Stone. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Dorr American Legion Post #127. His best friend was his dog, Pugsy. He loved to fish and was a great cook. Surviving are his wife, Avis; 1 daughter and 4 sons, Cheryl (David) Taylor of Wayland, Rodney (Diane) Stone, and James Stone, all of Hopkins, Bruce (Lauri) Stone of Plainwell and Darl Jr. (Mona) Stone of Zeeland; 3 stepsons, David (Rose) Sebright and Brent (Sue) Sebright, all of Hopkins and Stuart (Teresa) Sebright of Allegan; 11 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 12 step great grandchildren; 1 brother Merle (Pat) Stone of Hopkins; 1 sister, Janet Boysen of Allegan; brother-in-law, Greyson (Ethel) Warren of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jean Warren. Memorial services will be held at ll a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Friendship Bible Church in Hopkins.
