of Cheshire Twp., Allegan, died Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Holland Community Hospital. Dan was born March 25, 1958 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Don & Violet (Taggart) Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a welder by trade. Surviving are his wife, Kathy (Warner), 2 children Melissa & Rodney Breln of Allegan and Michael Laverty of CA, 3 grandchildren, Samantha, Morgan & Jenna, his mother Violet Smith of Otsego, 1 brother Don & Karen Smith of Bloomingdale, and his buddies, Kirk & Sam. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com, where funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 am.
