Allegan, MI, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. Mr. VanderPoel was born April 20, 1954 in Sayre, PA, the son of Kenneth and Marie (VanderPoole) VanderPoel. Surviving are his wife, Sherrie; 2 children and their spouses, Shaun and Edith Bryan and Sarah and Dan Ashley, all of Allegan; 2 grandchildren, Ireland and Collin; Mother, Marie Woodruff of New York; 8 brothers, Mickey, Roger, Jim, Marvin, Shawn, Rick, Scott and Walter; 3 sisters, Tia, Barb and Ramona; several nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friend and cousin, Kim Laarman, of Allegan. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, sister, Doris, and stepfather, Ed Brown. Cremation has taken place. Friends may meet with the family from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the home of Sarah and Dan Ashley, 4 Weeks St., Allegan, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. Fr.
