Dale William Peters, 63, of Allegan, MI passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at his home. Born January 2, 1955 in Plainwell, he was the son of the late Elmer Peters, Sr. and Grace (Mark) Peters and was the husband of Carmen "Angie" (Pauline) Peters. Dale was a veteran of the United States Army and the National Guard in which he served for more than thirty years prior to retirement. He had also been a talented furniture maker. Dale was a proud member of the Grand Traverse Bay Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. He enjoyed Powwow dancing, beading and crafting. In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by his sisters, Erma Jean Peters and Marian Peters Jarman and husband Tom; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous friends, especially the Shawa family who were like an extension of his own family. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Jijack Camp Recreation Hall, Watson Township, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM during which time a Pipe Ceremony will also take place. Burial services will take place on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Jijak Camp Recreation Hall at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery.
