age 78, of Allegan, MI, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at his home. Mr. DeKoster was born March 31, in Noordelos, MI, the only child of Henry and Bessie (Takens) DeKoster. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Pacific Theatre as a radio operator. He had worked the fruitstand at Hillcrest Orchards for many years. Surviving are his children, Linda and Paul Nienhuis of Holland, Donna and Paul Koetsier, Merry and George Hoving and Scott DeKoster, all of Allegan, Lorie and Ron Fulks of Hamilton and Nancy Palmer of Fruitport; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Sherman and Marge Ortman of Zeeland, Gerald and Louise Ortman of Holland and Harold and Jan Ortman of Drenthe; sisters-in-law, Albertha and James Meidema of West Olive, Harriet and Jerald Riemersma, Hermina Johnson and Beverly and William Tamminga, all of Holland; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johanna, and 2 children, Debra Thorpe and Casey DeKoster. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
