Obituary

Connie Mae (Hall) Jorden, 67, of Hopkins, MI passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at her home. Born March 8, 1952 in Kingsport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Ray Allen and Helen Irene (Martin) Hall and was the wife of Terry Wayne Jorden. Connie had worked as a bus driver for more than twelve years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dorr American Legion Post 127. In 1979 Connie started to attend church regularly and has worshiped with many congregations over the years. She loved to sing in the choir and volunteered in any way that she could, especially with programs that helped senior citizens. Connie loved to travel and camp with her family. She recently purchased a Jayco pop-up camper and was excited to use it more often. One of her favorite places to be was boating on Gun Lake. She found great joy in fishing and her family found just as much joy watching her fish. When not on the lake, Connie likely could be found driving around in her 1995 red Ford Mustang convertible GT 5.0; at times she had been known to burn a little rubber behind the wheel. She also enjoyed spending time tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, watching the hummingbirds at the feeders, and adding items to her elephant collection at home. Connie will be remembered as a true "people-person"; she loved others and they loved her. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many dear friends. IIn addition to her husband of forty-two years, Terry, Connie is survived by her children, Shawn S. Sim, Heather L. (Charles) Parker and Nicole M. Jorden; grandchildren, Shawn, Noah, Nahla, Amber, Camren, Christian, Kennedy, Demarcus, II and Gracelynn; great-grandchildren, Ellianna and Aria; siblings, Diane (Bob) Kirschbaum, Ray (Henrietta) Hall, Jr., Kathy (Scott) Sim, Brenda Hall and Hilda (Dave) Iacobazzi; several nieces and nephews, and her poodle, Coda. The family will receive friends at Hopkins Community Church on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at the church on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Service Details.
