Leighton Twp., MI, died Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Heartland Crestview Nursing Home in Wyoming, MI. Mr. Pollard was born November 4, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the son of Clifford L. Sr. and Dorothy (Dowell) Pollard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII on the submarine, U.S.S. Haddo. He had owned and operated Pollard Motors in Allegan for more than 30 years. Surviving are 5 children, Daniel and Debby Dykstra of Georgia, Jim and Maggie Dykstra of Paw Paw, Robin and Mike Cooley of Grandville, Diane and Richard Adams of Sturgis and Shirley Becker of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; fiancee, Pam McMaster of Shelbyville. Mr. Pollard was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, in 2001. Friends may meet with the family from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Pastor James Goldschmeding from Rosewood Reformed Church, Jenison, officiating.
