Clayton, "Dane" Nielsen, Allegan, died Friday, February 11, 2005 at Metron of Allegan. Mr. Nielsen was born April 22, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Christian & Iva (Christensen) Nielsen. Mr. Nielsen was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II, and was an active member of the American Legion Oscar Briggs Post # 89 in Allegan. He worked for over 30 years at the Grange Store in Allegan. Surviving are his wife, Erma (McKeown), his son, Craig & Vicky Nielsen of Niles, 2 grandchildren, Sophie & Stuart, 1 sister, Elaine Skinner of Grand Rapids, several nieces & nephews. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am. Pastor Al Lambert will officiate. Interment Plummerville Cemetery, Ganges Twp. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post # 89.
