Obituary

PAFFHOUSE, Clarence "Doc" aged 86, of Hopkins, passed away at his home, Saturday, March 2, 2002, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Mr. Paffhouse was born March 18, 1915 in Salem Twp., the son of Casper and Rosena (Drier) Paffhouse. He served valiantly in the U.S. Army during WWII and had been a long time member of the Hopkins V.F.W. and the Hopkins Community Reformed Church. Doc loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and enjoyed reading. He will be greatly missed by his wife of sixty years, Dorothy (Brenner) Paffhouse; 2 sons, Gary Paffhouse of Everett, WA and Greg and Karlene Paffhouse of McBain, MI; 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Stephanie, Laurel, Katie and Matthew; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and five sisters. Friends may meet with the family from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jack Klunder officiating. Interment Salem Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.
