Allegan, MI, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Stowell was born March 15, 1918 in Lowell, Michigan, the daughter of Edward & Grace (Chapman) Kellogg. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Allegan. She worked for over 20 years at the Grange Store in downtown Allegan, and was a farmer in the area most of her life, selling both chickens and eggs. Surviving are her husband, Fred; son, Stephen, and his partner Evin Croner of Chicago; 1 brother, Russell & Karen Button of Otsego; 2 sisters, Helen & Harry Waldron of Allegan and Lois Chandler of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Don O'Reilly of Otsego; and her "Allegan Kids, Ron & Jude Stark." She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence, and sister, June O'Reilly. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Bob Stover from the United Methodist Church will officiate. Graveside services will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at 1 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice.
