Hopkins Twp., MI, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003 at her home. Cheryl was born May 29, 1963 in Plainwell, MI. Surviving are 2 children, Nicholas and Samantha Lopez of Hopkins Twp.; Mother, Imogene LaFountain of Hopkins; Grandmother, Mary Girton of Plainwell; Great grandmother, Hazel Frazier of Indiana; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Jerry (Sheila) Girton and Ted (Tereasa) LaFountain, all of Martin, Crystal (David) Dalton and Janet LaFountain, all of Allegan; 1 step brother, Bruce (Lynda) LaFountain of Plainwell; 4 step sisters, Brenda Gaiten of Tennessee, Debbie Dennis of Otsego, Tammy (Dennis) Coles of Fennville and Marge (Riley) Castlebury of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step father, Leo LaFountain. Friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel.Pastor Ralph Bass from First Baptist Church of Wayland will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Cheryl's Children's Education Fund, checks payable to Ted LaFountain.
