Charles Alden Strandt, 83, Allegan, MI native, passed away at his home in Warren, MI on Monday, August 28, 2017. Born July 16, 1934 in Plainwell, he was the son of the late Howard C. and Elma Huggins Strandt. Mr. Strandt served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Piedmont. He had always loved golf and took great joy in both playing and watching the game. Mr. Strandt had also enjoyed playing all types of cards and participating in bingo. He is survived by his sister, Charlene Baker; nephew, Chris (Laura) Strandt; nieces, Pennie (Dan) Burke, Debbie Thomas, Cheryl Baker and Susan (Norm) Smith; and numerous great nieces and nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Strandt; and his brother-in-law, Ben Baker. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 11:00 AM until noon, at which time a funeral service will begin.
