Obituary

of Allegan, died Monday, September 17, 2012, at the Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming. Chuck was born May 24, 1938, in Munising, the son of the late Orin and Marvel (Storm) Jackson. A man of many talents, he was an avid bow and gun hunter with his favorite being deer and pheasant hunting. He lived on a lake and was an excellent fisherman and enjoyed being on the water in his Oday sailboat. He loved photography and taking pictures of his family and nature. He won many trophies racing motorcycles, and he was well known for his good nature and generous spirit. He worked and enjoyed different jobs upon moving to Allegan in 1957. He worked as a butcher at the local A&P Grocery, was a "Culligan Man" and a Service Master Carpet cleaner before his job at Rockwell Int. After retirement he decided to draw his own plans and build a new house using a hammer to pound every nail himself. After the house was finished he worked for a couple of years at Terra Yachts in Holland building houseboats to keep himself busy. He moved to Okeechobee, FL, in 2002 and enjoyed 5 years fishing and tracking alligators in "Fish Eating Creek" before returning to Allegan in 2007. Chuck is survived by his 2 children; Debbie and Tim Adamczyk, and Craig and Kelly Jackson, 7 grandchildren; Cory Adamczyk, Jessica Adamczyk, Shay Armentrout, Abbey and Mike Szoke, Christy Jackson, Lilly Penny, and Lexi Jackson. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, September 20, from 1-3 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Great Lakes Hospice or the Wings of Hope Hospice.
