of Allegan, formerly of Paw Paw, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Wings Home in Allegan. Mr. Counterman was born February 28, 1947 in Paw Paw, the son of the late, William "Henry" and Marie (Oddi) Counterman. Charles graduated from Paw Paw High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Post in Paw Paw. Charles worked for many years as a car salesman. Surviving are his daughter, Michelle and Sean Evans of Allegan, 4 grandchildren; Zachary, Megan, Isabel, and Zoe, 2 sisters; Bonnie and Roger Fenstermaker of Indiana, and Sherry Campbell of Kalamazoo, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vince Counterman. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, December 29, from 6-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 am. Pastor Chad Nightingale will officiate. Military Graveside Honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at 2 pm, we will process from the funeral home at 12:45. Memorials may be made to the Wings Home in Allegan.
