Obituary

Cecil John Davis Born Feb 29th, 1960. At the age of 61, on June 23rd, 2021, Cecil John Davis (known to most as Johnny) of Allegan, MI suffered a heart attack and left his family and friends here on Earth, to enjoy his well-deserved, peaceful, pain free eternity in Heaven. Johnny was a very generous and loving person; he was a great friend to everyone he met. He had that smile that would brighten anyone's day. He liked music, old tv shows, Dale Earnhardt, comics, and picking on his little sister. Johnny graduated Allegan High School in 1985, he then worked at The Workshop in Allegan, Kandu, Haworth and Holiday Inn in Holland. Even though Johnny was born with a mental disability, it did not slow him down from learning how to manage in life. His driving test was done orally, which he passed the first time. He was willing to learn new jobs and take on tasks. He always said "Nah, piece of cake!" No matter if he could accomplish it or not, at least he tried. On June 26th, 2004, Johnny married his sweetheart, Kathy Gordon, who he loved and adored. Johnny passed away just 3 days before their 17th wedding anniversary. Years back, Johnny went through a cancer journey, which ended up having his prostate removed and treatments to follow. He had a few other medical issues throughout his life which caused problems and made his mental state even worse. Kathy has taken care of him for several years and has done such a remarkable job. She absolutely loved him and cared for him through it all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Mary Davis; his sister, Rose Davis; and his mother in-law, Karen Gordon. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Davis; his sister, Tracey (David) Newburry; nieces, Ashley and Emily Newburry; father in-law, Bob Gordon; Aunt Donna Mead; cousins, Brian and Kristy Mead and Ron (Deb) Mudgett; plus, several other cousins. He also leaves behind an awesome park community which he lived in. He adored all his neighbors, which became family. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration memorial will be held on Saturday July 10th at 1:00pm at Allegan Assembly of God, 424 Delano Street, Allegan, Mi 49010. Pastor Paul Hays officiating. Johnny loved comics, so if you have one, please wear your favorite superhero logo shirts to the celebration memorial! He would love that! Service Details.
