Catherine Thorpe, 91 of Allegan, MI, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Thorpe was born Jan. 24, 1911 in Olivet, MI, the daughter of Lewis and Jessie (VanWey) Huntley. Mrs. Thorpe had been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Allegan for 15 years. Surviving are 2 children, Patricia (Lorrie) Strand of Baldwin and Richard Thorpe of Allegan; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, David (Betty) Huntley of Vicksburg; 1 sister, Jean (Larry) of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, daughter, Connie, brothers, Mervin and Kenneth, and sister Corine Oswald. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Pastor Dean Beckwith officiating. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
